The Hugo books are educational children’s books geared toward teaching character traits and positive attitudes. This book, in particular, focuses on bullying which is a topic seen and heard in the news a lot these days. The recurring message in the book is that there is always a larger fish in the sea.
‘THE LAST BULLY’ is a confidence-boosting book for children, showing them that being different is OK and the best way to deal with bullies is to tell someone about it.
This tale is a great way to deal with one of the biggest issues around.
A fabulous book to teach RESPECT.
What we say:
From the moment I showed my daughter the book, she was enthralled. At almost two, the vivid colors and expressive characters grabbed her attention and I was “forced” (for the lack of a better word) to read the book twice the first day. I did so happily as it was fun to read with a bunch of expression. The characters’ expressions were well portrayed in the photos, which helped me jumped into character easily as well.
In short, Clooney Clownfish is bullied by Bandit the Barracuda, who is in turn bullied by Simon the Shark, who becomes bullied by Oscar the Orca. After each bully scene, the characters form and build an anti-bullying club. In the end, all have to band together to save Hugo the Starfish from also being bullied by Oscar, who, in turn, joins the Anti-Bully Club too.
