Increase Child Engagement with Personalized Children’s Books {Plus, I See Me! Giveaway}

Have you ever been in a funny mood and inserted your child’s name into a story or song?  What happened?  Their face lit up or they giggled.  Perhaps they were much more excited.

My daughter’s eyes get wider and she listens more intently when I place her in the story.  She’s more excited by songs with her name in them.  Sometimes though, I’m not feeling particularly creative.  I don’t always think about this simple concept.

S received My Very Own Pirate Tale complete with personalized stickers and “Cap’n Shelby” bandanna.  The book used different ocean creatures on each page to spell out S’s first and middle name to help the Captain find his first mate.  Without his first mate, he wouldn’t have been able to open the treasure box at the end of the book.

I chose a sing along song book and CD for B.  He’s only just begun to get interested in books, but he loves dancing to music, so I figured this was the best option for him.  He’s still a bit young to get much out of it right now.  But, I know how excited he’ll be when he realizes HE is in all the songs most kids learn at a young age.

To be honest, once my second came along, it’s been more difficult for me to do more than simply survive the day.  I don’t find myself remembering to add their names to stories or songs as much as I should.  Bummer, right?

These personalized sets make it easier for me to engage my children on a more regular basis.  Plus, I love how their pictures are on the front page in the book with the year they were made.  That makes the I See Me! Personalized Children’s Books a wonderful keepsake in their libraries.  (Of course, that also means more things I can’t get rid of when they outgrow them LOL).
